Bonjour International Paddling Family members!

On behalf of CONEA 2010 and the International Va’a Federation you are cordially invited to join us for the International Va’a Federation’s 14th
The va’a competitions will be held from May 25 – 29, 2010 in Noumea, New Caledonia’s capital, on the Anse-Vata Beach. world sprint championships.

CONEA 2010 is the name of the association which will organize these world sprints and all of our members and paddlers welcome you, your paddlers, families and supporters to participate in this prestigious event.

New Caledonia had the privilege of hosting the 7th world sprints in 1996 with about 1000 paddlers and we are honored to host, for the second time, this event in 2010. We hope that you will come in very large numbers to compete or assist with these events and enjoy this cultural exchange

 

 
 

 
 
 

IMPORTANT DATES 2009 AND 2010

2009 December 1st: Intent to participate and initial paddler registration deposit of $10 USD each DUE

 

2009 December 2nd: Late fees of $10 USD each DUE

 

2010 April 30th: Completed crew entries and balance of $40 USD each DUE

 

2010 May 1st: Late fees now apply.

 

2010 May 22nd: Va’a blessing and team practices begin

 

2010 May 23rd: Opening ceremony 2010 May 24th: Paddler roster changes, additions/deletions, must be finalized

 

2010 May 25th: Racing competition commences

 

2010 May 29th: Closing ceremony

ENTRY ALLOWANCE PER MEMBERSHIP COUNTRY

The following are the allotted number of crew entries for each membership country:
V6: Each member country is allowed a maximum of six (6) entries in each event
V1: Each member country is also allowed a maximum of six (6) entries in each event open, juniors and masters.
V12: Each member country is allowed a maximum of three (3) entries in each event.

NOTE: These new rules have been voted in May 2009 and will be applicable for the 2010 world sprints in New Caledonia.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS AND DEADLINES

December 1, 2009 :
To advise CONEA, of the number of crews and paddlers that will be entered into each event. International Va’a Federation Area Coordinators are required.
A fee of $10.00 US per paddler will be required to accompany the registration. A registration form will be provided for this purpose. The registration form and payment must be postmarked no later than December 1, 2009 to avoid paying a late registration fee.

 

Late Registrations :
After December 1, 2009 any late registrations will be charged an additional $10.00 US per paddler.
Area Coordinators must notify CONEA, of the number of the additional crews and paddlers and the penalty fee of $10.00 US per paddler must be paid.

 

April 30, 2010 :
Final entry forms must be received by CONEA. These forms must include the number of crews and the names of each paddler registered for the crew. The forms must be accompanied by the full payment of $40.00 US per paddler.

 

Late Registration Fees
After April 30, 2010, additional crew entries will be charged an additional $40.00 US per paddler.
Adjustments to the Paddler Roster may be made up until May 24, 2010.
The payments must be received in full . Any bank fee charges will be the responsibility of the sender.

Total Entry Fees = $50.00 US per paddler
Preliminary Entry Deadline
$10.00 USD per paddler due by December 1, 2009
$10.00 USD late fee per paddler for entries received after December 1, 2009
Final Entry Deadline
$40.00 USD per paddler due by April 30, 2010
$40.00 USD late fee per paddler for entries received after April 30, 2010.
